Privacy and Law 25

Built for Québec’s Law 25

Québec’s Law 25 sets out how a business must protect personal information, and a plant’s quality records carry the names, emails and signatures of everyone on the floor. totalMOS builds the tools into the product, so the obligations are handled where the work happens instead of in a separate binder. They help your plant meet the law; the policies and decisions remain yours.

  • A person in charge, named in the app

Designate your plant’s person in charge of the protection of personal information once. Their name, title and contact details are shown to every member, under Privacy & my data.

  • A register of confidentiality incidents

Each incident is recorded with every field the regulation asks for and kept at least five years, with a reminder to notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned when there is a risk of serious injury.

  • Privacy by default

No trackers. In the app, preference cookies stay off until a person accepts them, and consent is recorded purpose by purpose. This website sets no cookies at all.

  • Data portability, in one tap

Download my data gives each person their own personal information as a structured JSON file, a commonly used format they can take elsewhere.

  • Erasure that keeps the record

People can erase their own personal information and admins can anonymise former members, while quality records and signatures are kept as the plant’s legal records.

  • Kept only as long as needed

Expired tablet sessions, the log of notification emails and anonymous consent records are purged on a schedule, after 30 days, 90 days and 13 months. Mozzie conversations are deleted after the period the plant chooses, 90 days by default.

  • Bilingual by design

The web app and the iPad app work in French and English and follow each person’s device language. French is first-class, not a translation layer, in keeping with the Charter of the French language.

  • A privacy policy in plain language

Published in French and English: what is collected and why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how to exercise your rights.
